Hypnotherapy involves the client being induced into a relaxed state, where they can experience enhanced awareness and contrary to popular belief cannot be made to do anything they would not ordinarily do. In this state the subconscious mind is revealed. The therapist is able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the client, the seeds of which become firmly planted.
What is it for and how does it work?
Hypnosis can be used to help with panic attacks, anxiety, guilt and conditions exacerbated by tension such as IBS, psoriasis and eczema. It can also be used to achieve personal growth by building self esteem, helping with confidence and enhancing life satisfaction. Hypnosis can also be used to enhance physical wellbeing and has been very successful in its use for help with weight loss, including gastric band treatment, smoking cessation and general relaxation. The most important factor is that the client is highly motivated for this change to occur and wants this particular treatment to work.
